The floors are one of the most important, high loaded and intensively used elements of constructions. Their surface is exposed to pressures and abrasion. Floors should have the right strength, resistance to water and chemical substances and be easy to clean. Concrete is the most often used material for industrial floors. Unprotected surfaces of floors are exposed to fast deterioration. For strengthening the floors, cement-based floor hardeners, liquid screeds or resin coatings are used.
The floors are one of the most important, heavily loaded and intensively used elements of a building and requires special protection. Its surface, which is permanently exposed to more or less intensive pressure and abrasion, must have appropriate mechanical strength, be resistant to water and chemicals dissolved in it, be easy to keep clean and, above all, play a protective and decorative role.
The material most often used for industrial flooring is concrete. However, an unprotected concrete surface is prone to rapid degradation – abrasion, dust, liquid soaking and dirt. In order to reinforce and protect the surface of concrete industrial floors, the most common methods used are to trowel the concrete surface with a mineral material or to protect it with polymer coatings. By applying an industrial resin floor to the concrete, it is possible to fully seal the concrete, strengthen the surface layer and adjust the surface texture – from smooth to slip-resistant.
