Ekspostatyba representatives participated in the LTG Infra Conference 2026, an industry event bringing together infrastructure developers, contractors, engineers, and transport sector stakeholders to discuss the future development of Lithuania’s railway network and the implementation progress of the Rail Baltica project.
During the conference, LTG Infra presented its planned railway infrastructure procurement program for the 2026–2027 period. The program foresees extensive modernization works, including renovation of approximately 67.4 kilometers of railway tracks, replacement of 33 railway switches, renovation of level crossings, and implementation of new design services across four main regions of Lithuania — Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, and Šiauliai.
The presentations outlined a structured investment approach aimed at strengthening network reliability, improving operational safety, and ensuring long-term infrastructure sustainability. Planned projects will be implemented in stages, with procurement procedures expected to begin following confirmation of project financing.
A significant part of the conference was dedicated to the Rail Baltica project — one of the largest transport infrastructure initiatives in the Baltic region. Conference participants were introduced to the latest achievements reached in 2026, including ongoing mainline design works in the Kaunas railway node, approved territorial planning solutions, progressing land acquisition procedures, and signed infrastructure design contracts for regional stations and maintenance facilities.
Construction progress was also highlighted, including completion of the first high-speed railway embankment section between Šveicarija and Žeimiai and the installation of initial track infrastructure sections. The total value of signed Rail Baltica contracts in Lithuania currently exceeds €1.6 billion, largely financed through European Union funds.
Participation in the LTG Infra Conference provided Ekspostatyba with an opportunity to gain first-hand insight into upcoming railway infrastructure projects, market development trends, and future partnership possibilities within strategically important national and international transport initiatives.
By attending the conference, Ekspostatyba continues to actively follow developments in large-scale infrastructure projects and strengthen its engagement within Lithuania’s growing railway construction sector.
